Hello from your host Maren

I love bringing people together.

I’ve been in the hospitality business since 1990, giving guests a friendly, social, and healthy lodging experience, hosting people from all over the globe in my lovely home in Southern Jutland.

Møllehusets is the biggest project I’ve ever worked on, renovating the house step by step with special attention to sustainable and eco-friendly living, from the building materials used as clay, wood and a high efficient wall heating system to the reusing of old doors, furniture and second hand treasures I have collected throughout the years.

I’m so happy to live in beautiful North Als, where the forests and beaches are world class, there are special tourist attractions like the science park Universe, and the two local big Companies Danfoss and Linak also brings in many visitors.

I love to show my guests my large organic vegetable garden with the goats and chickens. I  pickle and preserve my vegetables and fruits, bake my own bread, and try to be as self-sufficient as possible. Guests will be able to enjoy this same food for breakfast, which I serve in my own dining room. I love sharing my recipes, and I love to learn new recipes from guests, too!

Along with running the eco-friendly Møllehusets B&B, I’ve also worked as a potter for 35 years. When you stay with us, you’ll experience many of my works, from the custom bathroom sinks to the mugs and dishes we use for breakfast.

In addition to running a bed and breakfast, my dream is to open a café and hold events. In the future, I plan to offer yoga, massage, and other courses during the week. I want to show guests that healthy living can be easy and doesn’t have to be expensive.
